Yaron Berkowitz has been a dedicated musculoskeletal radiologist at the Oxford University Hospitals Trust, including the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and John Radcliffe Hospitals, since 2018. He has particular interests in upper limb, spine and intervention, foot and ankle, bone infection, and inflammatory conditions, and has previously published and presented in these areas.Dr Berkowitz received his medical degree from Cambridge University in 2009, and after seeing the light in the dark [room], undertook radiology training at Imperial College, London. He completed MSK fellowships at the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Oswestry (UK) in 2017, and at St Paul's Hospital, Vancouver (Canada) in 2018 prior to taking up his current consultant post. Dr Steven James is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist and Honorary Reader with the School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Birmingham, UK. He initially undertook his Radiology training at University Hospitals Nottingham before completing a fellowship at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, London in Musculoskeletal and Spinal imaging with an emphasis on interventional techniques. He was appointed in 2006 to a substantive post at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Birmingham.
Dr James works at a tertiary referral centre for Orthopaedic Oncology and has helped develop the diagnostic and interventional management of primary bone tumours during his time in Birmingham. He has also developed an interest in the diagnosis and management of sports related injury. He works as a radiologist for Premier League and Championship football clubs, Premiership rugby clubs and professional cricket clubs. He also provides radiology services for a number of national sports organisations including the England football team and was part of the radiology team for the London 2012 Olympics.
Dr James has a strong research interest and has over 120 publications in peer reviewed scientific journals on Orthopaedic, Spinal and Sports injury related topics. Richard James is a Consultant Diagnostic and Spine Radiologist at the Royal United Hospital (RUH) in Bath. Having completed his radiology training in the Severn Deanery, he undertook a 1-year Neuroradiology Clinical fellow post in Southmead Hospital with a focus on spine intervention and diagnostic neuroradiology. He completed the European Diploma in Neuroradiology (EDiNR) in 2018. Richard is a keen educator and teacher, and delivers both local and regional training.

Dr McCarthy did her medical training at the University of Cape Town and completed her radiology training in Oxford. The team has an international reputation for clinical, academic and educational excellence in MSK radiology holding offices of responsibility within all international musculoskeletal radiology societies.Dr O'Connor is a full time MSK radiologist with over 25 years of sports imaging predominantly in soccer, cricket, golf, athletics and rugby.Dr O'Connor was the imaging lead for the 2012 Olympics and organized radiology services for the commonwealth games in Manchester and the WIA championships in Birmingham.Dr O'Connor is a member of the IOC and European tour professional golf association medical advisory boards.In research Dr O'Connor is an international expert on MSK imaging with over 200 peer reviewed publications. He has research interests in all aspects of MSK disease and in rheumatoid arthritis he has developed a gold standard biomarker. Prof. Patrick Omoumi, MD, MSc, PhD
Patrick Omoumi is a Professor at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, and the Head of musculoskeletal imaging at Lausanne University Hospital.
His research activities include the development and validation of novel morphological and quantitative techniques for the imaging of the musculoskeletal system, in particular the imaging of the joints and bone marrow. He has a particular interest for the clinical use of these advanced imaging techniques to improve the understanding of osteoarthritis, and is working on establishing new pathophysiological models of osteoarthritis at the Swiss Biomotion Lab.
He is the principal investigator of multiple research projects, and has obtained over 1.87M USD in competitive grants.
He has been actively involved in educational activities, giving over 100 invited lectures worldwide. He has authored more than 100 scientific publications, and 33 book chapters.
With a strong international background, Patrick Omoumi has worked in six different countries in Europe, Northern and Southern America. He has graduated from Sorbonne University Medical School in Paris, trained in various international institutions, including the University of California, San Diego and St Luc University Hospital, Brussels, where he completed his PhD.
Karen Partington is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. After graduating from Glasgow University, Karen completed the MRCS and surgical training on the West of Scotland Surgical Programme, and then general radiology training and the FRCR on the Leeds Radiology Training Scheme. She completed a post CCST Musculoskeletal Radiology fellowship at the Oxford Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre before being appointed to a consultant post in Oxford in early 2014.Karen has an active role in teaching and training in radiology and orthopaedics and is the Head of School for Thames Valley/Oxford radiology. She was appointed by the RCR to the FRCR Anatomy examination committee in 2015. She is appointed member of the RCR specialty training board and the incumbent chair of the RCR Curriculum committee. Karen has authored several Musculoskeletal Radiology book chapters and has presented at several national and international radiological conferences. She teaches on national courses such as the Aintree Bones & Joints and FRCR courses, FRCR Physics course, various BIR courses and the FRCS Orthopaedic Miller Course.
Robin is a Consultant Radiologist with a special interest in musculoskeletal radiology and also the Deputy Medical Director in the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust covering the southern Lake District, Lancaster, Kendal and Barrow in Furness. He was secretary of the British Society of Skeletal Radiologists 2017-19 and is a member of the Faculty Board of the Royal College of Radiologists.
He has a broad background in medicine including several years as a General Practitioner and his qualifications include Membership of the Royal College of Physicians and a distinction in the Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners. Robin has a keen interest in medical education, particularly how it can help grow the NHS workforce by international collaboration, and is a fellow of the Academy of Medical Educators. He remains active as an educator locally and also contributes to running several radiology courses in the UK and abroad.
Dr Kannan Rajesparan is a consultant musculoskeletal radiologist who specialises in diagnostic imaging and intervention of bone, joint and soft tissue injuries and disorders. Dr Rajesparan works closely with sports physicians, physiotherapists and orthopaedic surgeons to diagnose and treat elite athletes from a range of sports.
His NHS practice is based at University College Hospital London where he is actively involved in a range of musculoskeletal research activities and quality improvement projects.
Dr Kannan Rajesparan is the Ultrasound Lead radiologist at UCLH and a core member of the London Sarcoma Team. He is Clinical Tutor of radiology training at UCLH, and is a lecturer on the UCL BSc and MSc Sports Medicine Programme. He organises and lectures on national and international radiology meetings and holds the position of Honorary Secretary at the British Institute of Radiology.
Dr Stewart Redman was appointed to the Royal United Hospitals, Bath in 2007. He has been Clinical Lead Lead for Nuclear Medicine and Radiology in the past and is the current lead for PET-CT. Over this time the Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT services have developed into regional centres of excellence. He has chaired the Science and Education Committee of the British Nuclear Medicine Society in the past and is the current Honorary Secretary. He sits on ARSAC and is the Radiation Protection Advisor to the RCR.
Ed is a Consultant MSK Radiologist for the British Army with clinical and academic practices at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) in Loughborough and at Oxford University Hospitals. He is the radiology clinical Lead at DMRC and the trauma radiology lead in Oxford. He is a senior lecturer and college tutor at Oxford University and a Fellow of the academic department for global health engagement. Clinical and academic interests include traumatic and overuse injuries of the lower limb and their rehabilitation.
Dr Jaspreet Singh, MBBS MRCP FRCR, is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Oswestry in the UK. He did his radiological training in Nottingham, UK. This was followed by a Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital. He was appointed as a Consultant in Musculoskeletal Radiology at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital in 2010. Dr Singh is a member of the European Society of Skeletal Radiology and the British Society of Skeletal Radiology. He has published a number of scientific papers and book chapters and has peer reviewed for journals. He has also spoken at multiple national and international Meetings. Dr Singh’s special interests include musculoskeletal intervention, spinal imaging, bone and soft tissue tumour imaging and musculoskeletal ultrasound.
I am a consultant musculoskeletal radiologist at the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. Previously working at the West Middlesex University Hospital, I have over 10 years’ MSK imaging experience in a general setting and at a tertiary referral orthopaedic centre. I trained at UCL Medical School with a joint honours BSc in Physiology & Pharmacology. I held medical posts in London and obtained membership to the Royal College of Physicians prior to my radiology training at Barts and The London with sub specialisation in MSK imaging.
Dr Graeme Thompson completed his radiology training in South Africa where he practiced as a consultant for 15 years before moving to the UK. He is a founding member of the South African Musculoskeletal Imaging Group in which capacity he has delivered many lectures at radiology, orthopaedics and sports medicine meetings. He holds the ESSR Diploma in MSK radiology and is a member of the International Skeletal Society. Since starting as a consultant at Oxford University Hospitals he has delivered lectures for the RCR, the 19th British Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Course and the Erasmus MRI course in Essen, Germany. He has completed the Ironman triathlon three times and has a special interest in sporting injuries.
